FAQs
What could possibly go wrong?
All model building requires skill and the best results are achieved with patience and precision. If you’re not careful, you could damage the parts during removal, lose parts or install parts the wrong way round. Some parts are delicate and can get damaged if you apply too much pressure. As with any skill, the more you practice and the more experience you have, the better the result. Take your time and enjoy the journey.
What is the minimum recommend age to build Triceratops?
13 - but builders of this age are likely to need some help and encouragement. This is a good opportunity to teach kids that repetition is the mother of learning and mistakes are part of the learning process.
What is the maximum recommend age to build Triceratops?
The kit is designed for all ages, so if you love hands-on activities then don’t let age stop you. It helps if you have steady hands and decent eyesight. If you're over 40, you'll appreciate the aid of a magnifying glass, even if you're wearing glasses.
Can I colour it?
We think Triceratops looks best in his natural state, but yes, you can colour him. Do this before removing the parts from the sheet.
Do all the parts need to be glued?
Yes. Although the parts slot together, you will need to secure them with some glue. The all-in-one kit includes some glue, otherwise any regular household glue is fine.
Is the finished model fragile?
I wouldn't use the word fragile because it's unlikely to break when dropped. However it is delicate and easily destroyed by feet, pets and vacuum cleaners. The dome supplied in the all-in-one kit is made of strong glass, but a decent fall could still damage it.
